So I have been reading Michelle's work for a few years now, mostly on fanfiction.net where she writes amazing stories about my favorite couple (Christine and Erik from the Phantom of the Opera). I'm sort of picky about my fan fiction and really hate reading anything that is poorly written and cheesy. Michelle is neither of those things! Her writing is beautiful and really gets me connected to the characters. Oftentimes, I will go back to her stories because I can't find any others worth reading!

Now I knew Michelle had published some other works of hers that weren't based in phantom world, and I don't know why I waited so long to give them a read! Now that I have finished Opera Macabre, within about two and half days I should note, I can't wait to read her other works here on Amazon.

So more about Opera Macabre… From the very first chapter I was completely and utterly hooked! I connected with the characters instantly, and couldn't wait to find out what would happen next. A lot of times vampire stories can be very cliche, however this is not true with Opera Macabre whatsoever! Michelle creates many twists and turns, and develops her characters very effectively. Bianca is a very head strong girl, while insecure at times, she is a very good female lead and a joy to read! Aiden has a dark tortured soul ridden with guilt… Both characters are sort of dark in their own way, however throughout the story they find each other they help each other into the light together.

I could write all day about how much I loved this book. It's beautiful, addictive, and everything a good book should be. Buy this! And if you love phantom go check out her fan fiction as well! You will not be disappointed!

Opera Macabre Michelle Rodriguez 9781601549648 Books Reviews

I had read Michelle's unpublished Phantom of the Opera compositions on another website and was awestuck by her writing ability. Vampires were not of interest to me, until I read Opera Macabre. Michelle has a way of drawing you into the period of time, each character's personality, the location and then proceeds to take you on a hair raising ride with unpredictable twists and turns of passion and fright. Opera Macabre is Michelle's first published book and I look forward to many more!
I loved this book. It was wonderful not to have to wait for the next update, to just be able to read through to the next chapter. I really couldn't put it down (though I had to occasionally). Michelle has a wonderful way of having the reader interact with the character. The empathy with which she writes makes the book enthralling and makes the reader feel what the characters feel. It's a thrilling and sweet story. I can't wait to read more from her.
Loved this story. I have always loved vampire stories, and this one was delightful. Great characters throughout the book - mortals and immoral. So great to have a vampire with a heart. Great reading.
I love this author! This is the second book I have read by her and I have a few more lined up to read. The story is a vampire/human love story with some slight phantom of the opera references. The story is kind of like twilight meets Ann Rice. It's well written, very descriptive and a happy love story!
Although Opera Macabre is this author's first published novel, I have also read many of her stories published on several Fan Fiction sites. I loved this story! Michelle Rodriguez's writing is exceptional! Opera Macabre grabbed my attention from the very beginning. In fact I can honestly say taht I lost sleep as I had a great deal of trouble putting the book down. The characters she has built up are well developed and intriguing. Count Aiden de Lazarus's vampire is different from any I have ever read before. Her Heroine Bianca is feisty and sharp witted. The little demon Rufus Pennyworth will leave you wanting more! The villain vampire Alexi is as evil as they come and is simply wonderful to hate! But beyond the brilliant characters she has written is the back drop of Victorian England as well as the world of theater that her writing allows you to see, hear and smell as if you were there the whole time. The only regret you will have with this book is that it ended and will no doubt be one that you will want to read again and again.
I'm a huge fan of Michelle's, having read all her work on a fan fiction site. As I read her stories, I was thinking that she should be a published author and was pleasantly surprised that she is!

This book had me hooked from the very beginning and I literally couldn't put it down. Michelle does such a great job of inventing her characters and letting us see and feel what they are experiencing. Her heroine, Bianca, is brave and witty. Her hero, Aiden, is sensitive, sexy and soulless (*grin*). The supporting cast of Rufus and Percy and Alexi and even the slimy manager are all so well-composed. The story is interesting, never dull and has a dark side to it as well as a deeply romantic one. I enjoyed it immensely and was sad to see it end.

I definitely recommend this book, especially for those who love vampire/gothic romances.
